Beauty in Darkness
I have always had a love for the darker side of life. This is something that translates into my photography in a lot of ways. I have a deep love for history and especially studying into different culture’s belief systems and their views on the afterlife. I see beauty in places of eternal rest, such as cemeteries.
It seems that every year I go through phases of artistic inspiration where those interests manifest themselves within my inspiration and so I spend time creating photos that stray from my normal landscapes, wildlife, and outdoor adventure photography. I see the beauty in decay, within bones and skulls, and monuments for lives who have passed on and I like to translate what I see into photographs.
Below are a few things that I have worked on within this realm over the past year. By looking into the shadows, I gain more appreciation of the light. I hope that you enjoy.
