Field-Based Conservation & Expedition Photography

Documentary photography rooted in direct field experience across remote and working landscapes.

Expedition & Field Documentation

I document conservation initiatives, wildlife research, and field operations alongside the teams working to understand and protect fragile ecosystems.

My work is grounded in direct field experience — moving through wetlands, rivers, alpine terrain, and subterranean systems to capture the realities of work in remote environments.

Available for expedition, conservation, and editorial assignments.

Areas of Work

Field-based photography and conservation storytelling developed through direct experience in remote and working landscapes.

Explore the areas where our work may intersect.

Guided Experiences & Workshops

Small-group field immersions focused on wildlife ethics, visual storytelling, and conservation-driven photography.

Stories & Education

Essays, conservation updates, and behind-the-scenes perspectives from time spent embedded in wild places.

The Everglades Field Project

An ongoing body of work documenting the ecological, cultural, and conservation story of the Everglades and Big Cypress. This project follows field researchers, guides, and wildlife professionals working in one of North America’s most complex and contested ecosystems. This long-term project documents the intersection of ecology, culture, and conservation policy in the greater Everglades ecosystem.

Behind the Lens

I’ve hiked, paddled, crawled, and driven through the untamed edges of this world, not for thrills — but to understand places, and help protect them. I’m Cody—a Navy veteran, overlander, photographer, and wilderness guide who believes the best stories come from wild places, and they’re worth protecting.

During a recent speaking event, I was asked why I keep returning to difficult places.

“I crave the uncomfortable feelings that exploration and discovery bring us.”

— Cody Meridith

For me, discomfort isn’t about adrenaline — it’s where growth, understanding, and meaningful conservation begin.
